Russ and Diane Ward met in 1972. Russ was a working musician in Carbondale, Illinois, playing drums in a band and singing and playing banjo in an acoustic quartet. Diane had a nice vintage Gibson guitar from her father.

After Russ and Diane married in 1974, they began singing and playing guitar together for fun but never in public. In 1998 they began performing at Masthouse in Woodstock, and they continue to perform at various open mics. Both sing, and they play acoustic guitar and dulcimer.

Russ and Diane are regulars for Music at the Market, the Stage Left Open Mic, and the Every Saturday Virtual Open Mic.

Here is a sample of Russ and Diane performing “Time After Time”. Their friend, Dean Milano (left, below), is also a regular at Off Square Music events.
