Sundays On The Square with Cassandra and Ken
July 11 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Cassandra Vohs-Demann and Ken Johnson join forces again this summer for another wonderful musical collaboration.
Cassandra is an inspiring performer, coach, composer, and producer. She is a strong believer in the power of community and finds her greatest joy in bringing people together to make music that inspires and provides a sense of belonging for all. Her creative spirit, diverse musical background and classical training make her an incredibly versatile vocalist performing music from many genres including rock, jazz, country, folk, pop, musical theater, and opera. Cassandra has been performing professionally for over 30 years and has done hundreds of concerts for audiences of one to over thirty thousand. She has performed as a soloist, opera singer, theater performer, fronted several bands and has worked with professional musicians from coast to coast. She is the owner of A Place to Shine Music, producer of the Second Saturday Concert Series and the Founder/Artistic Director of the Woodstock Community Choir. Cassandra is a popular concert artist in the region for festivals, fundraising events, and concert series. She has released original music on all major platforms.
Ken Johnson’s unique mix of soaring vocals and folk/rock guitar stylings have made him a popular performer throughout the Midwest. He loves the music he grew up with: 60’s and 70’s pop/folk/rock – but also mixes in material from a variety of contemporary artists. His ability to deliver a song in an intimate and powerful way makes him a popular performer at concerts, weddings, church services, and any event where music is a focal point.
Ken was a pioneer in the use of computer technology in music education and has participated in the consultation and implementation phases of music technology programs for thousands of schools K-20 throughout North America, including groundbreaking work designing keyboard and guitar labs for VH1 Save the Music. He now works as a performer and voice teacher, making his home in Woodstock, Illinois.
