The Off Square Music community was saddened by the sudden passing of Mike Maxa on September 22, 2023. We will miss Mike, his unique music, and his delightful hosting style at Stage Left Open Mics.

Mike Maxa, singer-songwriter, wrote and performed off-and-on in the Chicago area — and had since his college days in the 70s. He played a laid-back acoustic mix of folk, country, and jazz.
Mike performed at Stage Left Open Mics and at All-Original Open Mics. In recent times, he hosted many Open Mic events.
