Start With Love…Another Collaborative Project From John Hegner
John Hegner’s website features his latest project, “Start With Love.” In his own words:
Start With Love is a song and collaborative project for which I am asking your participation. I have created a demo recording to begin the process. My vision is for it to evolve into a multi-cultural tapestry of musical signatures. Any and all of the existing parts can be enhanced, replaced, or expanded with your creative input, whether that’s a riff, an instrumental part, a vocal harmony, a rap, a lead vocal, or some type of remix. If the song resonates with you, feel free to run with it! You don’t need to be technical to participate, this can be done on a smart phone or with something more advanced such as DAW software. Reach out to me and I will assist you in the process.
Start With Love is inspired by the many peaceful protests around the world that reveal humanity’s deep desire for a new paradigm, redefining how we co-exist.
At the same time, the pandemic crisis brings into focus how truly connected we are, and how the conditions for a few can affect the outcome for all.
This moment offers a rare opportunity to reflect on what we are doing, what we want, and where we are going, personally and collectively. Together, we have the power to create a world in which ALL CAN THRIVE. There is enough for everyone – if we believe and participate in this truth. Now is the time to stand up, to be open, to care more than ever about what we are building. Let’s start. with. love.
This project invites musicians around the globe to add their signature to this musical petition to Start With Love.
Thanks to the musicians who played on the initial recording: John O’Reilly Jr. (drums), Peter Calo (guitar), and Michael Krayniak (bass). Special thanks to Rebecca Hegner and Gian East for their support and creative input on this project.
This goodwill endeavor has no political affiliation or profit motive.
To participate in the project, please fill out the contact form on John Hegner’s website, https://johnhegner.com/. You’ll receive access to the mix stems and other files so you can work your magic.
